JazZone Senior Vocal Ensemble wowed crowds at Generations in Jazz! Twelve students from Years 8-11, led by 2019 JazZone Captains Ruby Shaw and Nathan Sachse and directed by Head of Music Mrs Page, put on the performance of their season in front of family, friends, and the huge GIJ crowds. This group has been rehearsing tirelessly multiple times a week to be ready for their performance. The students enjoyed performances from 5,400 students from 134 schools across Australia and New Zealand.
The students performed amazingly well to achieve fourth in their division, which is fabulous, and the students conducted themselves beautifully.
JazZone enjoyed a gala concert in the enormous James Morrison Pavilion, featuring great jazz musicians from around the globe, and has been enjoying other GIJ highlights such as ensembles from other schools from across Australia and jazz craft workshops.
Congratulations to the students for their exemplary conduct, great enthusiasm, and fierce commitment to this fabulous national event. Huge thanks to all who have supported JazZone’s foray into Generations in Jazz 2019.
